George Town, although multi-cultural in composite, is predominantly chinese and a big portion of it is Chinatown - a noisy, crowded, delightful conglomeration of people, goods, mobile stalls and old shophouses.

The Snake Temple was built in 1850 in memory of the Buddhist priest, Choo Sor Kong, who is said to have healing powers.
